With the popularity of flat motion design weve been seeing more and more of the circle burst style animation as of late. This clean effect can really make your titles and graphics pop and its quite easy to create in After Effects. In the After Effects video tutorial below Ill walk you through the steps of creating a highly customizable circle burst animation. This approach uses shape layers, without the need for third party plugins or graphics. First, well create animation by keyframing size, position and rotation of shape layers. Then well multiply these settings to new shape layers with simple expressions to create the circle burst. This After Effects technique is useful anytime you want to animate a series of objects in a circular rotation. How will you use it in your project? Let us know in the comments below!

A push button animation can be created by simply modifying shape layers in After Effects no third party plugins required. In the first half of the After Effects tutorial below well go over how to create the overall shape of the button: Turn on the grid in After Effects to aid in alignment Enable Snap to Grid to help with creating straight lines Create simple shape layers to give the button shape + shadows Then, in the last 5 minutes well dig into how to give the button the effect that its being pushed or depressed. Both the shape layers for the button and the shadow will need to be modified to really sell the effect (with the shadow totally disappearing when the button is pushed flat). This After Effects tutorial is useful for a variety of motion graphics projects. Have a few titles on your screen? You can use the button as titles, with the animation drawing attention to each title when its featured. How would you use this push button animation?
